My 20th Birthday / Afternoon Tea at The Fairmont

I have always loved going for afternoon tea. When I was in New York, I loved getting tea at The Plaza hotel! In Montreal last fall, my friend Francesca and I went to tea at the Ritz Carlton. To be completely honest, I have never been a huge fan of the actual tea…or the food that is often served. However, I do love the experience. I love getting dressed up and feeling fancy for an afternoon! Because of this, I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate my 20th birthday than by hosting an afternoon tea at The Fairmont in Seattle.

Ever since I was a little girl I have been a huge fan of birthdays! I love going all-out and using birthdays as an excuse to get all of my friends together. Being in college has made me miss so many of my High School friends, so I love any chance to see them! We had so much fun getting dressed up and spending our afternoon catching up and enjoying the beautiful tea party.

Outfit Details –

I knew I had to have the perfect dress for my party, so I started shopping the second that I picked the venue. Gal Meets Glam Collection is a new clothing line by one of my favorite fashion bloggers! It has so many beautiful and classy dresses. The dress I wore is the Olivia. I can’t imagine a better dress to wear to a tea party! My shoes were pink and scalloped (my two favorites!). They are the Odila Sandal from Nordstrom.

One of my favorite parts about my day was that I barely had to do anything. Typically I get so stressed out when planning my birthdays, but The Fairmont handled everything but the centerpieces (I just picked up some roses and peonies and put them in clear vases!). This made it so easy! I honestly felt so relaxed the entire week leading up to my party, and the day of went so smoothly.
