I just got back from The Blog Societies Conference 2019 and am so excited to talk a little bit about my experience – what we did, whether or not it was worth it, and what I wore!
Where It Was
The conference was held at Barnsley Resort, which is located about 1.5 hours from Atlanta, Georgia. I had never been anywhere in Georgia besides Savannah (which I had visited for the first time a week prior) and was super excited to visit this breathtaking resort. Barnsley Resort is a huge resort with a golf course, swimming pool, lakes (featuring kayaking and other water activities), as well as a barn with goats & horses, and more. West Coasters – if you’ve ever been to Sun River Resort in Oregon, Barnsley Resort reminded me so much of this! I grew up going to Sun River and felt like I was back in my childhood when wandering around this beautiful resort.
What We Did
The conference weekend kicked off with an opening night dinner & welcome party, where we had the chance to network with brands and other bloggers. It was so great to meet so many people who I had seen online & to connect with brands that I have loved for years. I was dressed by Joules for the event and wore this dress! They also provided these shoes for me to wear during the weekend. They were so comfortable (perfect for exploring the resort) and matched my dresses.
The next morning we had a lovely breakfast hosted by LaCroix and then began our day full of workshops. I took classes on pitching, SEO, contracts, and staying organized as a blogger. All of the classes were super beneficial and I learned information that left me inspired and excited. In the middle of the day we had lunch hosted by one of my favorite shoe brands – Marc Fisher! We also got to preview the new fall collection & I can’t wait to start shopping it. I definitely have my eye on a pair of leopard booties!
After our classes were over we had some free time before cocktail hour & dinner hosted by Yankee Candle! All of the candles in their new collection smell so good and have me so excited for fall.
The next morning we had breakfast as a group and then spent the next few hours listening to the event’s keynote speakers – Manu from Your Social Team, Matt from Podia, and Brittany from Lawyer Lookbook.
Overall, I think The Blog Societies Conference is a great way to network and make connections with brands and bloggers. I am so thankful for the opportunity to introduce myself to brands that I have loved for years and also be introduced to some new ones! If you’re a blogger you should definitely look into attending next year.
